Take Me Home!

I'm still here because the doctors want to make sure I don't have an infection because my blood count was a little high, but it's gone down. Hopefully it goes down even more tomorrow! That's the only reason why they keep me here besides monitoring my reaction to my new meds.

I might be able to go home in the morning. I'm so excited, I can't sleep. I'm making mommy stay awake with me.

Okay, mommy is going to try to make me go to sleep now, so I will have to go!

Im Bored

So yesterday they finally got rid of my fish face and let me wake up, but thats it. I have to lay in bed all day and watch t.v. and let them suction me to get some of this snot out of my system. Im doing really good but again I am really bored so Im gonna cry now until somebody comes and play with me.

Getting ready To wake Up

Okay, it's been a week now. I had a really good long nap. It is now time to wake up and play. If everything goes as planned, I will be extubated in the morning and finally get to wake up to see Mommy and Daddy.


The nurses allowed me to move around a little today. Gosh, it feels so good to do so. I just can't wait to scoot around everywhere again. So much fun awaits me in the morning so I'm going to rest some more to build up lots of energy. =)

Zzzz

So I'm back to sleeping for a few more days. The ENT doctor looked into my lungs again with a scope to see what is causing the bleeding. Well, he didn't see enough to pin point the problem. Although, he did say that my Trachea is inflamed and the tissue around it is engorged.

When I move around too much, it triggers the bleeding. I'm on a paralytic drug yet for a couple more days so that I won't move around too much and will have time to heal. Hopefully the doctor is right because Mommy is impatient. She wants me to hurry up and wake up so we can play again. She misses me a whole lot.

The good news, though, is that everything else is healing well. The cardiac doctors are pleased that my heart and lungs are doing great. All we have to do is wait for the bleeding to stop and I get to wake up so Mommy and Daddy can spoil me! =)

Trying To Move Too Fast

Today I had a little set back. The nurse's were being nice and started to let me wake up a bit yesterday, I got to see my mommy and daddy. But I got a little bit rambunxious last night and started bleeding a little bit. Just enough to raise some concern they say.

It wasn't anywhere in the lungs so that is really good news. They think the bleeding is coming from some where in my throat. The good news is it heals with time. They lowered my blood pressure and put me back to sleep again for another day or two.

Who Likes Chest Tubes?

I sure don't and thats why I am glad that they took them out today. So now we just got to work on getting rid of this fish face. It was cute at first but now that I am awake it is annoying.

The doctors say I am doing really good but they would rather be safe then sorry so they are taking things a little bit too slow for my mommy. My daddy was all smiles when he saw the chest tubes were gone. I got to hold my parents finger today, I held on tight.

Mommy and daddy must have read my mind becuase I got my monkey and Nebraska bear today. I also got my Vikings blanket, go Vikings.

It's been a big day so far, im going to rest up so hopefully when I wake up my fish face is gone.

Catch Up To Speed

Since this is my first post I want to catch everybody up to speed. I was born on August 29th, 2006 so I just turned 1 years old.

I was born with some heart complications and stuff but don't let that fool you. I am still a happy little girl that gets what I want when I want. I am still working on having daddy let me touch his computer.

I have had 2 heart surgeries, currently on my 3rd, and 1 stomach surgery. Everything has gone well up to this point and I can't wait untill I am done with all these doctors, although they are nice to me.

So, right now I am in the hospital because I had my 3rd heart surgery on September 10th. They wanted to do a Glen procedure but my lungs didn't want to cooperate so they had to re-route some of my veins to make them cooperate.

During the procedure a blood vessel in my lungs decided it wanted to burst so I could stay with the nice nurses at the hospital even longer. Right now they have me on some drugs that keep me asleep so I can't feel the pain. They got some tubes down my throat to help me breathe, so when my parents come to see me I get to make a fish face at them the entire time.

They say they are going to take my fish face away by the end of the week and hopefully next week I get to go to the other part of the hospital so my parents can hold me and play with me again. They better bring my monkey and my Nebraska bear or I am going to cry until they go get it.

Well, I suppose, I better go back to sleep so I can get better.
